As the wise Sri K. Pattabhi Jois said, “Yoga is 99% practice, and 1% theory.” So why a reading list?
I partly agree, but if this is the case, why are there so many books about yoga, spirituality, healing, and new age practices?


As an instructor and practitioner, I think it’s best to achieve progress in yoga and meditation on our own, and not get too caught up with expectations or theories.
However, we also need to understand the basics of these practices and gain new knowledge when we deep-dive into new areas in order to succeed.

Above all, we need inspiration and motivation. 
There are tons of amazing resources out there, and today I want to share my recommendations, in no particular order.

  • Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse: I’ve read this book more than any other!
  • The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle: A must have!
  • Awareness by Osho: The Bible of my love.
  • The Wisdom of Yoga by Stephen Cope: A love story about yoga.
  • Hardwiring Happiness by Rick Hanson
  • Yogananda’s Autobiography of a Yogi: mind-blowing.
